Tuesday Toddlers
Federalist Facade Summer Storytime and Sing-Along
Tuesday, June 18
and every Tuesday through July 23

10 -10:45 a.m.

Drop in or come every week! Tudor Place has enchanted young children for almost two centuries (at right: Armistead Peter 3rd with his nanny, by the Temple Portico). Experience it yourself on summer Tuesday mornings, as we meet to read, sing, and play in the shaded gardens. The theme changes every week, from "adventurous animals" to "growing gardens" and more. Children join in an interactive read-aloud, sing songs, and learn movements to go with them, while sharing this enchanting setting with the grown-ups who care for them. Parent/caregivers remain with children throughout.

Children: $5 per session or $35 for all eight | Adults: FREE

Tudor Nights
Farm to Table: Tudor Place Style

Thursday, June 20
6 – 8 p.m.

"There was the garden where the vegetables were raised - the orchard from which we had an abundance of fine fruit . . . and herbs were dried for seasoning."

--- remembrances of Britannia Peter Kennon,
founders' daughter and second owner of Tudor Place

For nearly a century at Tudor Place, seasonal bounty filled pots, pitchers, and plates. Food grown here fed Peter family members as well as household workers. Urbanization and specialization led to change, and the land turned to ornamental uses, but food and farming remain anchored in the object collection and archives. Join us in recalling the ways of self-sustaining agriculture on one of the nation's last intact urban estates. Enjoy evening hours in the mansion, including a close-up look at three collections items, as well as "bountiful" summer snacks and libations in the Dower House.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Entry includes touring the mansion and gardens, light refreshments, two bar beverages per guest and signature cocktail.
