Curator

Tudor Place Historic House Museum and Garden, a 19th century site located on 5 ½ acres in Georgetown, Washington, DC, seeks a Curator to advance its mission through the research, care, and management of an 8,000 plus object collection that ranges over two centuries. Major collections include silver, porcelain, textiles, Mt. Vernon collection, jewelry, and everyday objects. Interested candidates must have Masters Degree in American decorative arts or material culture and four years curatorial experience preferably with an historic house. Tudor Place Historic House and Garden, a historic house museum located in Georgetown, is seeking qualified applicants for an exciting and rare summer internship opportunity. The internship program is designed to provide research opportunities and practical, hands-on experience to students pursuing a graduate-level degree in museum studies with a background in Mid-Atlantic archaeology.

Collections Internship Position

Tudor Place Historic House and Garden, a historic house museum in Georgetown, is seeking interns to assist with an inventory of its collections. The project will focus on our collection of 18th-20th century silver, one of the finest in the region, but can be extended to include other areas of collection, such as ceramics, furniture and glass. This internship opportunity would be ideal for anyone interested in decorative arts and historic house management as well as developing experience in object handling, cataloguing and collection management skills.
