Make Your Mark at Tudor Place

Individual contributions, especially for annual operating support, are vital to Tudor Place’s success in preserving and sharing the buildings, gardens, collections, and archives that illustrate American history. Gifts of cash, gifts of securities, or planned gifts make it possible for us to connect visitors with the Nation’s story, from the colonial to the digital age.

There are many ways to get involved, including the Director's Circle membership program for those giving more than $10,000 annually, the Legacy Circle for those who are making a planned gift, and the Tudor Place Council, an invitation-only leadership group whose members share a deep interest in Tudor Place’s collection and unique assets.  At every giving level, you will enjoy opportunities to get to know Tudor Place and your fellow patrons through complimentary behind-the-scenes tours, social gatherings, and Landmark Society events and lectures.

Giving Levels

Director’s Circle ($10,000)

The Director's Circle is a select group of major donors who annually demonstrate their leadership support of Tudor Place by making unrestricted contributions of $10,000 or more within a fiscal year. Gifts at this level strengthen all aspects of Tudor Place—from the preservation of its historically significant neoclassical architecture, to its magnificent historic garden with plant material surviving form the Federal period, to our immense archival and object collection including the largest collection of George Washington materials outside of the Smithsonian and Mt. Vernon. Members of the Director’s Circle join the Board of Trustees and Staff in their commitment to preserving and advancing the National Historic Landmark.

Director's Circle members receive free admission to Tudor Place, and free or discounted admission to special events throughout the year. Members also receive a 20% discount on merchandise in the museum shop, and a reduced rate for special private events hosted on the property, and the ability to use the conservatory space for a private lunch or dinner for up to ten (10) guests upon request. Eight (8)) complimentary Tudor Place gift memberships are included in the Director’s Circle Membership as well. The Tudor Place Council ($3,500 - $5,000)

Established in 2014, the Tudor Place Council expands the expertise, perspectives, and resources available to Tudor Place. Council members are business, civic, and philanthropic leaders from all areas of American life that share a deep interest in art, architecture, gardens, decorative arts, and many other aspects of Tudor Place’s rich collection.

In 1966 the last private owner of the estate and his wife established a foundation to preserve the historic site and provide “educational activities devoted to the preservation of the heritage of the United States of America.” Today, members of the Tudor Place Council strive to advance the organization’s preservation and educational initiatives and to meet upcoming challenges.

Tudor Place Council members:

  • Support the organization’s financial sustainability through a multi-year giving pledge of $3,500 or more annually;
  • Encourage other key individuals and leaders to connect with Tudor Place, learn more about its significance and join the Tudor Place Council; and
  • Magnify the visibility of Tudor Place and its historical significance among the general public.
